Coding with Minecraft Education

Students who are ready to take their skills to the next level will learn essential computational thinking skills in a fun and interactive manner with Minecraft Education’s unique Code Builder feature.

Kids will have a blast as they creatively design and build their own expansive Minecraft world using block-based coding, which is a special offering only in the Minecraft Education Edition. While doing so, they will also develop important analytical, debugging, and critical thinking skills that are valuable as students advance their programming skills. This course will review the fundamentals of block-based coding in the immersive environment of Minecraft.

Python is widely known as being the cornerstone of data science and is one of the most in-demand programming languages today. These classes will teach students the fundamentals of programming in Python, best coding practices, and visualizing data with Python. We’ll introduce students to datasets and data manipulation in Python so that they are prepared to make their own project with any dataset they want.

Advanced Scratch Block-Based Coding
(Fall 2025)

Learning how to code successfully involves building, improving, and creating your own projects. With Scratch, kids will learn how to design various advanced projects and master the basics of variables, conditions, loops, and the coordinate system.

Kids will master these programming concepts with emphasis placed on structured and independent play.

This course will use block-based coding as a tool to help learners develop computational thinking skills and effective group collaboration. Kids will have the chance to exercise creativity, problem-solving, and have fun!

Who it’s for

“Tali Titans” are 6th-12th graders who are ready to incorporate project-management skills and more advanced critical thinking skills. No prior coding experience is required to join these courses, unless you join an advanced version of a course.

When do classes start?

Each course has a schedule that is listed above. Please reference the dates and times that are listed for each individual course.

Where will they take place?

Classes will be held in a conference room at Builder Studios located at 450 S 400 E, Bountiful, UT 84010 which is in front of the South Davis Community Hospital. Please follow the signs inside the building indicating where the class will be. We will have the necessary equipment and tools your child will need to have an awesome time!
